Of course, if you are in Wiltshire then Stonehenge, is the obvious choice! The stones and the surrounding area are cared for by the National Trust and you will be able to find out plenty of information from parking to walking routes on the National trust website. As well as Stonehenge you can walk to Woodhenge which is less well known and likely to be less busy.

Roundway down near Devizes is the historic site of a battle of the English civil war. As well as the history of the area, this is a walk that will take your breath away with stunning scenes across the North Wessex Downs area of outstanding natural beauty.

For a waterside wander the Kennet and Avon canal is perfect. Whether you want a long walk or a shorter distance you will see the local wildlife and stop for a bite to eat and something to drink as there are many waterside tea rooms and pubs along the way.
